I am a pūkenga matua | senior lecturer and the kaiārahi hōtaka | programme leader for the Postgraduate Diploma in Infant and Toddler Learning and Development programme.

Passionate about teaching and research, I am committed to advancing teachers’ understanding of effective ways to support the development and learning of infants and toddlers. My research areas of interest include infants and toddlers, transitions, morality, the use of visualities in pedagogical practice and teacher education. My PhD focused on teacher accountabilities for their pedagogical acts. As such, I see pedagogy as a deeply moral act that implicates teachers in the lives of learners and accountable for the consequences of their actions. My work has helped to shape the development of teacher education programmes at Te Rito Maioha ECNZ and has contributed to the broader conversation on effective pedagogical practice.
