Professor Lynda Johnston is the Assistant Vice-Chancellor Sustainability at the University of Waikato and has been a lecturer in human geography for over 20 years. Lynda’s current teaching focuses on the many ways in which people, families, communities, and institutions can be sustainable using the UN framework of SDGs.
As a Professor of Geography, Lynda is also the Aotearoa New Zealand delegate to the International Geographical Union (IGU) and has previously chaired the Gender and Geography Commission of the IGU (2016 – 2020), as well as being President of the New Zealand Geographical Society (2018 – 2022).
