Mero is the Kaitohutohu Marautanga Māori | Curriculum Advisor Māori across the mātauranga Māori programmes at Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand.
Tēnā koutou, ko Mero Irihapeti Rokx tōku ingoa. I am a strong advocate for kaupapa Māori-based teaching practices and am currently lecturing in the mātauranga Māori space at Te Rito Maioha. I have spent the last 15 years moving across the sector from mainstream to Māori immersion teaching, secondary school to ECE. My research of late has focused on the bicultural principles of teaching and learning online. I live in Tokomaru Bay and I am a mother to three tamariki – Orini, Te Uranga o te Rā, and Natiailewaikahu.
